For years, much of the commissioned artwork Karen created involved presentation oil paintings of military aircraft, but for more than a decade she has specialized in portrait painting. She now lives and works in the Bradenton/Sarasota area of Florida. Her work can be found in private collections in this country and in Europe.

"I begin each portrait with excitement and I strive to capture not only the physical likeness, but as much as I can of the personality of the individual in my work."
